Nest Nests
In this tutorial, we will see how we can UpdatePanels nest. UpdatePanels can nest as you want, no limit. In this example we will create two UpdatePanels and nesting each other. One is displayed at a person from a database, which is selected from a DropDownMenu, the nested UpdatePanel show the current time, so we can see when is updated.
The first thing we do is create a database for example – or if you have an account, you can use that. For this example we will use a table with some names and cities as our data. Need a ScriptManager a DropDownList, a SqlDataSource, and our UpdatePanel to get started:

We have set our DropDownList to be populated by our SqlDatSource that the names are displayed in our database, which allows the user to select. Note that also down the conditional UpdateMode our UpdatePanel to only allow to reload when you select the DropDownList, which is identified with the trigger we added.
Then let's add a FormView control in the ContentTemplate of the UpdatePanel, and another UpdatePanel – this will display the time:

We now have added the FormView control to display the person selected for the user, but now he will not, because they do not know the person you select as yet. Note that there is a button in the second UpdatePanel to update the current time. This is to show that you can reload nested UpdatePanel only by the trigger that the attempted abduction of postback, and instead, simply reload the UpdatePanel.
